WHY DO WE DO MOBILITY MONTH?

POW Mobility Month is about inspiring the outdoor community to take low-carbon adventures. Transport is Europe’s second-largest source of greenhouse gas emissions, and for many of us, travel makes up the biggest part of our personal footprint. By highlighting real stories of people choosing trains, buses, shared mobility, and bikes, we want to show that sustainable travel isn’t just possible — it’s inspiring, joyful, and part of protecting the places we love. 

This campaign isn’t about perfection. It’s about progress. Every train taken, every car trip replaced, every shared journey makes a difference — and together, those choices add up.

POW Mobility Month is led by POW Europe but supported globally. Anyone can take part.
WHY IS POW FOCUSING ON MOBILITY?
Because transport is Europe’s second-largest source of greenhouse gas emissions, and one of the biggest contributors to an individual’s footprint. By rethinking how we travel, we can make one of the most significant shifts toward a low-carbon future.
WHAT DOES 'LOW-CARBON MOBILITY' MEAN?
It covers all ways of getting around that reduce emissions compared to private car or plane travel — trains, buses, shared rides, cycling, walking, and even multi-modal trips that combine these.
DO MY SMALL CHOICES REALLY MATTER?
Yes. Individual choices add up, especially when they inspire others. By sharing your story, you’re helping shift culture and create demand for better, more accessible low-carbon travel options.
